Immigration Year: 1882
Married to Inger Marie Mogensen December 23, 1873.  Inger was born March 13, 1850 in Aalborg, Denmark and died January 18, 1938 in Kenosha. 
Inger immigrated to America in 1883 with four children shown in the photo below.

Christine Jensen born April 20, 1880 in Rakkeby, Denmark.  Died December 21, 1965.  Married Robert Maegaard June 4, 1902.  In 1948 Christine and her husband moved to Safford, Arizona.  In 1956, Christine returned to live in Kenosha.

James (Jens) Marinus Jensen, born Feb. 26, 1876 in Rakkeby, Denmark. Died Aug. 5, 1904 in Wisconsin from an accident at the age of 28.  See photo below.

Christian Peter Jensen  born Dec. 21, 1877 in Denmark. Died Nov. 20, 1953 in Wisconsin.  Married Emma Emily Gentz.  Christian Peter was in the Spanish American War serving in Cuba.

Laura Jensen, daughter, born November 30, 1885 in Wisconsin. Died January 7, 1979.  She married William E. Thompson (1886-1962) on March 25, 1920.

Christian Peter Jensen was born December 21, 1877 in Denmark. He arrived in the U.S. in 1882.   He died November 20, 1953 in Wisconsin and is buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Somers Township, Kenosha County.    He was a veteran of the Spanish American War, 7th Cavalry and he served in Cuba.

Christian Peter married Emma Emily Gentz.  The Gentz family were one of the early  pioneers of Somers Township.

Emma Emily Gentz was the daughter of Charles Gentz (also spelled Geutz) who immigrated from Germany to the U.S. on November 2, 1870, arriving at the Port in Baltimore.  Charles was born May 10, 1851 and on the 1900 US Census was shown living in Somers Township as a widow.  His children were listed as Frederick, Emma, Louis, and George.  Also living with him were his uncle Herman (age 77), and aunt Willimena (age 77) and mother-in-law Louisa Freitag.  Herman Gentz and Willemena Gentz were living in the Town of Somers on the US 1870 Census.  Louis and George Gentz are shown in the 1897 class photo of Burr Oak School, Somers Township and were class mates of the Jensen children.  The Gentz family rented in Somers Township.

James Jensen was born February 26, 1876 in Rakkeby, Denmark.  He died August 5, 1904.

"The funeral services of James Jensen, killed by a train near Corliss (now known as Sturtevant), were held from his late home Sunday afternoon.  A large concourse of sympathizing friends followed the remains to Oakwood Cemetery."

Mabel Yule (Mrs. Edward) Longmore
Age 87.  Passed away January 3, 1970 in St. Catherine's Hospital, Kenosha, Wisconsin.  Mrs. Longmore was born in Somers, Wisconsin on April 27, 1882, daughter of B.F. Yule and Jessie Yule, pioneer Somers residents.  She graduated from Ferry Hall School of Music and attended Oberlin College of Ohio and was a music teacher for many years.  Mr. and Mrs. Longmore celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary of January 1, 1970.  She was a charter member of Somers United Church of Christ and a member of Ladies Aid and Royal Neighbors of America.  Surviving are her husband, Edward; one son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd (Ruth) Longmore; one granddaughter, Mrs. John (Joan) Marti, all of Somers; two brothers and sisters in law, Mr. and Mrs. Everette (Catherine) Yule and Mr. and Mrs. Earl (Lillian) Yule, all of Kenosha.  A son preceded her in death in 1912.  Funeral services will be held in the Somers United Church of Christ.  Interment will be in the family plot Oakwood Cemetery, Somers.

Roy Howard Longmore Obituary

Roy Howard, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Longmore died Friday morning May 3, 1912.  Saturday afternoon many friends fathered at the home and a short and beautiful service was conducted by Rev. C.F. Bruhn.  The little one was laid to rest in the family plat at Oakwood Cemetery, Somers.

"Mr. and Mrs. Edward Longmore have moved out from Kenosha and will make Somers their home.  Mr. Longmore has opened a barber shop in the village and is ready for patronage.  He will also go into the poultry business extensively and keep several varieties of fine stock."

Benjamin F. Yule
Benjamin F. Yule is the owner of thirty-six acres of land in and near Somers.  He formerly conducted farming interests on a much more extensive scale and for a long period he was identified with industrial activity as a carpenter.  His birth occurred in Somers, Wisconsin November 17, 1851, his parents being Alexander and Jane (Watson) Yule, who were natives of Scotland.  Leaving the land of hills and heather, they arrived in the U.S. in 1840 and almost immediately afterward settled in Somers Township where Mr. Yule purchased two hundred and forty acres of land, then largely wild and undeveloped.  He bent his energies to its cultivation and for twenty years engaged in farming upon that place but desirous of putting aside the more active duties of agricultural life, he left the old homestead and made an investment in a small tract of thirteen acres, upon which he lived until his demise.
He was married twice and by his first union had seven children:  William, James, Alexander, George, John, Couts and Beatrice.  The children of his second marriage were nine in number:  Mary, Joseph, Thomas, Ann, Henry, Robert, Andrew, Benjamin and Edward.
Mr. Yule was a Democrat in his political views and a Presbyterian in religious faith, and his upright, honorable life won him the respect and goodwill of all with whom he came in contact.
His son, Benjamin F. Yule, attended the common schools to the age of seventeen years; afterward spent one term in the high school at Racine and then began learning the carpenter's trade, at which he worked for forty years.  He next engaged in farming, making investment in one hundred and ten acres of land, which he cultivated for a considerable period but afterward sold eighty acres of that tract.  He now owns thirty-six acres of land in and near Somers and gives his attention to the development of his farm.  his has been an active and useful life, crowned with a substantial measure of success, and his record proves what may be accomplished when energy and laudable ambition lead the way.
In 1878 Mr. Yule was married to Miss Jessie M. Strang, a daughter of Robert Strang, and they have become the parents of six children:  Mabel, who is the wife of Edward Longmore and has one child; Blanch, who is the wife of James Thom and has four children; Clarence, a resident of Iowa; Edith, who married C.A. Jensen and has three children; Earl, living in the Town of Somers; and Everett, at home.
The religious faith of the family is that of the Presbyterian Church and they are interested in all those forces which work for the moral development of the community.  Mr. Yule is a Mason, loyal to the teachings of the craft, and is also identified with the Modern Woodmen.  His political endorsement is given to the Republican Party and, while he does not seek nor desire public office, he has never been remiss in the duties of citizenship, but supports those measures which are matters of civic virtue and civic pride.

About Clarence L. Yule
"Clarence L. Yule, 58, a native of Somers, died Tuesday in Milwaukee where he was engaged in architecture.  Mr. Yule was born December 10, 1886, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin F. Yule.  He attended Burr Oak rural school, and was a graduate of a military academy and Armour Institute of Chicago.
After serving in the first World War, he lived in Creston, Iowa, where on November 14, 1917 he married Edna Beckwith.  In 1939 he moved to Milwaukee and joined the United States Soil Conservation Bureau.
Surviving are his wife; two brothers, Earl S. Yule of Somers and Everett Yule of Kenosha; three sisters, Mrs. Edward M. Longmore and Mrs. C.A. Jensen of Somers, and Mrs. James Thom of North Bend, Neb.
Thursday a group of relatives from Somers will accompany the body to Creston where services will be held Saturday.
