"Oakwood Cemetery is maintained by the small sum of one dollar per lot and with this sum, the cemetery received four cuttings of the grass on each and every lot, many neglected graves were care for, the fence was given two coats of paint, a tool shed was built and we regret to say there are a very few who have dear ones laid away in this beautiful place who have refused to pay their dollar because in their estimation one dollar's worth of work has not been done."
